Google Drive Sync Issue

Hi, i have a file on my pc uploaded manually to Google Drive. Once the upload is complete, i'm delete the file on pc, because the reason i'm uploading to cloud is to clear space on my pc.
However the drive also deleting the same file as like its syncing with the pc, which is not..Is there a way to avoid Drive deleting it? Like its quite useless i uploading to cloud if still need to keep it in harrdrive.

Did you setup Backup & Sync software from Google on your computer?

I didnt use any google drive software,its just drag the files to Drive in chrome, wait for it finish uploaded, and thats it...
