lol google dont criminalize the people who want to download, they are criminilizaing those who make it eaily possible for those who would never have been able to do it on their own.

youtube mp3 is clearly in the market to rip mp3. if they were MEANT for both video and Music then its a different story, their name says it all. audio, meaning music(for most mp3 downloads).

Kind of like saying police "criminalize" bank robbers by stopping them.

Listening to music on youtube is ridiculous. You might as well plug a set of headphones into a potato.

Well technically...when you use Youtube you are downloading the video file, that video file comes with the audio file so....its legal to use that video AND the audio file but not the audio file alone?

Not so, the quality is actually decent on some HD videos now. The Vevo ones in particular- if you rip the video and check the stream I've seen them go up to 192 kbps, which is pretty good, esp. given the shitty iPod headphones most people probably plug in...

You aren't downloading the files in the same way that you download a zip file, the videos are streamed and not meant to be saved once you close the window. As to the video alone thing no you can't do that either, you can't download whole videos, music or just the video part of anything on YouTube it is all against the ToS..

Hey, Tom's, how about finding a better pirate picture for future articles. This guy looks like a stoner in a $5 Halloween costume.

Apples are OK!

How about plugging it in the behind plug spot? It makes for an awesome Brown noise!

when companies will understands??? times are changing! people will download music, that is not stealing! its a changing trend!!! guess what if you really like someone then you will go to his concert and pay them a lot of money to get in!... what? some people are losing money and concerts aren't enough? well maybe those guys shouldn't be doing music! or perhaps those damn discographies are making the music business impossible!!! i just wish that people had enough will to say if they dont let me get that piece of information for free i won't pay for it and will try to make other people stop paying for it, until only nice and evolved artist will be around, in my country most artist will give you their music right on their websites, and keep you fully informed about their concerts and presentations, that way you can give money almost direct to them, without losing to much to the devil in the middle (discographies) guess what? they are doing better than ever!!!

Good grief. Another criminal rationalizing stealing from workers. Yes, it is stealing. It has bankrupted companies and thrown tens of thousands out of work. It has destroyed the shareware market. Software, music, film authors and workers are not slaves. We have families too. If you don't want our work, no one is forcing you to buy it. But, don't steal it either. And yes, the dictionary definition of "steal" includes "intangibles."

Communism failed. It was in all the papers.

Agreed, the quality is just fine indeed. This has been the primary way we got music for a few years now. Works great, no legal worries, etc.

Regardless of what Youtube says it is common sense that if you stream something to someone they can capture and use it. The same way that if a satellite company broadcasts their signal then you have a right to descramble and watch it even if the law says otherwise. There is what's legal and then there is what's common sense/right. All kinds of things are illegal that shouldn't be. They are only illegal because lobbyists paid the congressman to make it illegal.

No you do NOT have the right to de-scramble and steal product. It is criminal and there are prosecutions. When you steal product, it increases the price for everyone else. Same as those that shoplift or file fraudulent insurance claims. It also means that we all have to deal with more and more protection mechanisms. Once upon a time, we didn't have to lock our homes. The fact that we do know is not the fault of the home-owners, it is the fault of the criminals.

It appears that you have zero respect for the property rights of others.

Exactly. Just like you don't download a song by listening to it on the radio. Well, you can if you have a tape recorder. Good old days...
