not even a single mention in the article about screen resolution. this was the biggest regression of the pixel 5
This wasn't a direct 5 vs potential 6 comparison.
It's impossible for a Human with natural eyesight to see any difference between 360 ppi and higher, screen brightness, uniformity, color range and responsiveness are far more important and the Pixel 5 screen is better than the 4 easily.
The fact of the matter is with the 6 you'll have AT LEAST the resolution of the Pixel 5. Just saying there was a regression simply because the number is lower is an uneducated statement.
What I would really want out of a pixel 6 phone so that I can finally upgrade my pixel 3 XL:
- dual selfie camera like we had in Pixel 3 XL (wide and ultra wide lenses)
- quad rear camera system (wide, ultra wide, telephoto/zoom and macro camera lenses)
- Bigger camera sensors
- 8-12GB RAM
- Bigger battery > 4500mha
- Flagship CPU/GPU, like the Snapdragon 888
- 1-120hz refresh rate screen
- min 128GB/256GB storage -> up to 512GB
- Face unlock (Like we have in the pixel 4)
- Under display figerprint scan
- Body with nicer design and better materials
- Front speakers for better sound quality like in the pixel 3
Let's face it, no matter what you get you're gonna upgrade to the 6 XL anyway.
Dual selfie lens - Doubt
Quad rear camera - Maybe, but kinda doubt. Triple yes.
Bigger sensor - Maybe, it will be a new sensor ofc.
8-12GB RAM - 8GB.
Bigger battery - ofc.
Flagship CPU -Whitechapel, it'll be good. 888 good? Doubt.
1-120Hz screen? Maybe. Probably more likely 5-90 or 120 tho.
128GB min storage - Pixel 5 is already 128GB
Face unlock - Yessir
Under display fingerprint - Extremely likely
Improved design - Yes
Front speakers - Nope.
I'd like to see GG Victus on this as well. I just want something that basically matches the current Samsung S series in specs. I don't mind if it costs a bit more.
Also hoping that with Whitechapel comes 5 years of updates. Samsung is outperforming Google here except Google does monthly updates.
