Google announced today that it will divide the amount of time before it anonymizes users’ data in half, meaning your search data will now only be associated with your IP address for nine months before being made anonymous.

I dont like Google, but I agree. Who cares about search data? They can have all my searches for busty babes and do what they will with it - it's their TOOL.

Interesting... Not surprising that Google did this after the bad press from Europe (particularly Germany).

Can anyone explain to me how this change is significant, though? They're still holding onto data for 9 months... Its not that I don't trust Google. They seem to have a good rep trying to keep the data private from the government and outside companies... but its only a matter of time until something bad happens, by way of someone forcing Google to release the data in order to fight some piracy garbage.

Why do you need my data for 9 months Google?
