Quote search should be the default mode for searching. I can't imagine that most people want an x OR y search instead of a search for the complete string they are entering. Google and Bing do a better job than Notion or Evernote which default to OR logic. For example, if you search on shower leak you want to know about a leak in your shower rather than bridal showers or security leaks. But that is what you get from the major information managers.

It would not be rocket science for search engines to display results for a string of two or more words. An old technology, Info Select, does this very well. If there were a cloud version of it, I would still be using it instead of one of the constantly frustrating alternatives.
