I have a laptop that has the Nvidia Geforce GT 740m 2GB GDDR3 graphics card. When I enable the device in Device Manager and play a game, my whole laptop crashes and doesn't boot unless I boot it through Safe Mode. Right now I have disabled it and I was wondering if I could enable it and use it without making my laptop crash. I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Toshiba Satellite. P.S If you could, can you please tell me the issue and whether its possible to fix. Thank you in advance!

What surface do you work on? Is it flat and smooth to allow airflow to the bottom vents? The most common thing to cause that is heat and restricting the vents will cause heat issues rather quickly. I might suggest the use of a cooling pad when gaming to help control temperatures.
Temperatures can be monitored with the use of a program such as CoreTemp, SpeedFan or HWMonitor
