Question Greetings, I am an old (very) newbie and hope that I am posting this in the corect area?

I rescued a semi-drowned JBL Flip 5 in August last year, dried it and eventually got it working quite successfully until a couple of weeks ago. After a couple of hours listening to it while we had a power cut, again, (hooray Eskom) I turned off my Flip. Next day, when we had yet another power cut I tried to turn on my Flip but could not. After doing some research I found that I could start it by conncecting to an external power source. I have tried all manner of button combinations to do a factory re-set and to disable 'Service' settings, all to no avail. I still have to conncect to an external power source in order to start it, thereafter it works normally. Does anyone have any suggsetions to get around this problem? Regards Careybird

You would need to take it apart and test the power circuitry and battery with a volt meter to make sure the paths are all good. See if someone did a tear down on one of those to guide you.
