Man I am so bummed that the 4100 series will not be upgraded. I was at
ComUSA over the weekend and saw the 5400 model that was plastic and had
the landscape screen feature. I am so going out of my mind with
jealousy.

The 54xx and 55xx series will also not be upgraded. the current iPAQ line
has been discontinued in favor of the new rx series that are factory
equipped with 2003SE.

You can go here, register and post your gripe, but since two days HP
has chosen dictatorship over support and has erased over 75 posts already.

Wasn't there a piece of software that would allow this? Perhaps someone else
can step up and help out here?

Which is exactly why when my last HP died, I went with the ASUS A716. They
may not be the biggest PPC makers on the market, but they do seem to care
about their customer.

Care? Where do you get that from? They have never ever answered an email
I've sent. Have you managed to get an answer from them?

But they are nice machines.

So when is the WM2003SE upgrade for the A716 and A620 coming out? Is it
already?

I'm not sure really. Asus says it will be any time now. My dealer
(ProPortable) tells me the same thing. I would imagine by the end of
August.

I don't know. I have never had a problem with Asus or their support
system. It may take a few days but I have always received a courteous and
(sometimes) helpful reply to any email I have sent.

I hear ya. I like the WinCE, er Pocket PC, er Windows Mobile platform
but I am running out of expense reports and patience in upgrading.
Lanscape mode is something that the WM platform has needed for quite a
while. I think I might check out that new Palm Tunsten that has a Today
screen, Bluetooth, Camera, and lanscape mode for $299.

If they run their PDA business like their Mobo business I would avoid
them.
