Hey guys, so I have an Acer H5370BD projector and it's been great for the last couple of years, but last month the bulb blew. I've finally gotten around to taking the bulb and and confirming that just the bulb is broken. The only replacement bulb that I have found online is below
http://www.projectorlampsource.com/acer_h5370bd_lamp.html

So my question is, is there anywhere I could get a cheaper bulb? Could I get one with similar specs and make it work? Or, for the money, would I be better off finding a different projector. I'm in college, so I'm not rolling in funds, but me and my roommate want to try and get something working before the super bowl. If I do just get a different projector then I just want it to be at least 720p and good with a little bit of light. I only paid 400 dollars for the acer and it came with a 100 dollar projection screen. We're using my roommates elite screen now though.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you guys for even reading this.

Many times you can get just the lamp itself rather than the entire lamp assembly. If it looks like the lamp is easy to remove it will save you some money. I would suggest getting the same exact brand and model as generics can have less output, a different color output and reduced life.

¨You can't use a different lamp. You're better off buying it rather than a new projector. The biggest difference you can make in a non light controlled room (everything that's not a cinema), is buy a grey screen. A cheap projector but expensive screen is always the way to go in those situations. The lamp is fairly cheap, so I would buy it.
