Half screen black

Top half no picture just black with lines. Please tell me the solution.

What components have you got and how old are they? This sounds like GPU failure, do you play games on your PC at all? We need to know more about what is inside of your PC so we can form an effective diagnosis.

If it's a horizontal line on the top, with oddly colored lines, it's almost sure to be the LCD panel. The Tv or monitor has to be replaced.

But, have you tested another video source, such as a computer, PS4, etc?

I don't have any spares. There was a little gaming this is a Samsung flat screen TV not a PC.

Samsung TV, with horizontal lines? I've seen dozens.... I've got a few in the repair shop.

Your LCD is defective...there's no fix. 🙁

Can't the LCD be replaced

Yes, but a LCD panel will usually cost in excess of the price of a new tv. The usual price for a panel from Samsung is over 300$ for a 32-inch, and over 500$ for a 42 inch.... They simply overprice panels so you buy another TV.
