Hard reset problem

I had an pattern lock which i cant remember, tablet wants me to put in e-mail & password but it does not want to take it, and it is correct. I cannot switch on internet or wifi. I tried to hard reset by pressing volume up button and on button at the same time, but only gives me the robot no memue to reset. I have searched on the internet twhat to do and it gives me the same solution that i tried 1000 times.How will i hard reset the tablet. Or what els can i do PLEASE HELP
