Hard reset samsung gala y tab3

I am trying to hard reset my galaxy tab 3 and I've got to the screen where it says delete all user data, but the volume button will not allow me to scroll and select yes, it only scrolls onto the no area. Help!

hold vol up and the power button until the galaxy screen appears then vol down to the factory reset line and press power again. vol down again to wipe all data and then power one last time.

When its done press the power button again to restart.
