haunting for upgradable graphics card in gaming laptops

please help me i need some list of good gaming laptops whose graphics card is up gradable so i can play for up to 4 years on good medium settings.
i went through alien ware 17 which is a good laptop for gaming but have no proper idea if i can upgrade it in future.
Moreover i am also looking towards MSI but i dont know if the gpu is up gradable
finally can you guys give me more gaming laptops option whose gpu is up gradable

I've answered this question a few times here on tom's , Average users are NOT able to ever upgrade the graphics card on a laptop . In most situations is a bad idea to even try if you had access to a BXP soldiering kit and knew what you were doing a new gpu would usually destroy the heat mapping and dispersion of the laptop and very quickly overheat / meltdown It would also be Very expensive.


The other option is a standard called MXM , an attempt to make a mobile open standard for this

haven't seen this advertised on many laptops in the market but they appear to be availible on some high end stuff

If you are Dead serious about gaming on a laptop , You will spend a lot of money doing it I suggest you search for a laptop with a decent discrete GPU and ideally thunderbolt ... This would mean that later down the line you could add an external GPU solution to boost your power when your not on the move

when i say high end i mean like $2000 systems , $1000 ( about 500-700 UKGBP ) where i am, .
The GPU add in cards can cost up to $500 alone , manufactureres like alienware , Clevo , MSI , do do them but remember you are buying an OPTION to swap it , it does not mean you are going to definately be able to afford / find a card that works with your machine at at a later date

Even then MXM as a standard has not really been a success if it made it to the mid range - low range it would make sense but 90% of laptop users don't need the graphics grunt and are happy with FUSION / intel solutions

I think if my budget was a $1000 i would build a tower and buy a portable machine 13 icher with a mid range GPU so i could play basic stuff when im on the move and decent stuff when i got home.

Why even bother with a laptop GPU when you're also building a tower? Just getting a portable machine would be cheaper, so you can buy a better GPU for said desktop, so that you can game better.

There are tons of great laptops out there around that price range, it's just that mxm modules make your search a lot harder, or as synth said, impossible. If your heart is set on a gaming laptop, get the best specs you can find.

no i would not build a portable desktop or tower because next year i am going university so i need a laptop with me.. so yeah i ll go for gaming laptops yeah i will take a risk even if i cant find the gpu for my laptop then i will sell it.. thank you for your answers
