Solved! Have 2 HDMI ports on my element tv can’t get the pictures from my fire stick so I can sign on to the internet

Can’t get my fire stick to work on my element tv I have 2 ports one above the other on the back of tv I have all my components connected right’, don’t know if if have to set it on a special channel r what to make the fire stick work since it won’t come on I can’t sign on to my internet. I have Amazon Fire stick 2 the second generation.

You did connect the power supply to the firestick?
You did select the HDMI input you plugged it into? That input does work with other sources?
Try it on another TV. Maybe the stick is dead?
If the firestick has been used before and that TV was higher resolution than this one then you may have to set the video resolution down.

Thank you for your help but the fire stick is brand new never been used.
