have an asus x550 notebook and it automatically updated windows 8.1. now all i get is a message saying install unsucessful... any ideas or do I have to take my new computer. Christmas gift back to dealer and have them fix it?

Since you just got this laptop I would think it would already have come with 8.1 and what you have is a failed update.
Can you double check please?
