Having an issue with new headphones

I just received a pair of Ifrogz headphones as a gift, but when I plugged them into the green jack behind my pc, I get no sound. I get the notification that I plugged in an audio jack, but no sound. All my sound settings seem ok, and I have up to date drivers. The jack in front doesnt work either.


My old earbuds work fine.

First, there is such a thing as DOA but first, I'm wondering if they are meant to be used for a computer. Maybe the speakers are the wrong impedance. I'm not familiar with the brand.

make sure the headphone plug is identical to your earbud plug.If the headphones have a volume control make sure it is up.
If the plugs match and the earbuds work but the head phones do not then the only conclusion is that the headphones are faulty.

Well the headphone plug has 3 white rings around it, and the buds have 2 black rings. Other than that, they are the same size.

Forgot to add that the headphones have a built in mic, but no volume control. The impedance on the headphones is 32 ohms or whatever that symbol is.

The earbuds are the same brand and worked right out of the box.

Yeah its not the same plug and will not work on a pc,that plug incorporates the mic and a pc needs a separate plug for the mic.
I think those plugs are designed for Apple products.
What you have is a 4 pole 3.5mm plug and a pc requires a 3 pole 3,5mm plug.
You may be able to get a splitter adaptor from the 4 pole to two 3 pole and that should work.

Yeah I feel like an idiot now. I tried them on another device and they didnt work. I assumed they were broken and tossed them.
