Having problems with USB Rs232 drivers and USB drivers

Hello,
I am a web developer and i am looking to use a gsm modem to receive SMS messages and then send them to a web page.

I'm using a Wavecom Fastrack. The modem is connected to a Rs232 (15 pin) cable which is then connected to a rs232 to USB adapter. This USB then goes into the computer.

I'm inexperienced at connectivty and drivers, but I understand that I need to download a USB driver and a USB to rs232 driver. is this true?? and if so, could you suggest where I can download these??

I would think it would be easier to have your SMS messages sent to an email account, and then have a web script pull those messages down and post them on a web page. No special hardware required!
