HD Audio through Nvidia gtx 460

So I just bought a new monitor and I wanted to run my head set through the audio jack on my monitor, which is fed through hdmi on my video card. However, I also want the sound from my speakers that is fed through the onboard sound card. I know how to change the settings so that I have one or the other but not both.

use windows sound settings for your motherboard connections and NVIDIA Control Panel/Display/Set up digital audio for the monitor
