Lenovo T410 with Win7 64.

When i log into Windown i get a "Windows detected a hard disk problem" backup your stuff pop up. So i replaced the HD, imaged it and i log in and get the same error.

Does that point to it being a board issue? and is there any way of fixing it other than replacing the board? :)

I guess it could be two bad drives.. but it seems unlikely. I dont have another laptop to test with right now .. could make that happen though.

Ran chkdsk and sfc /scannow .. came back clean.

advice ?

If you image a system with problems (like file corruption) - you end up with the same issues on the new drive. It may be time to do a backup, and then wipe and reload the OS.

Since you have 2 disks with the same information(image), you could just wipe reload one, and see if the error clears up. - That way youy'd retain the original data.

I took a HD out of a pile we have here and imaged it through the network (PXE) .. so its as fresh and new as i can make it. Error showed up first time i logged in after imaging.
