HDMI converter on mini genie

Trying to hookup a old tv with rca to the mini genie using a hdmi converter. Doesn't work. Any ideas??

What TV brand and model and what type of connections exactly and what converted did you get?
Keep in mind if you are connecting and HD source to a non-HD set with a converter, your quality will be junk, and the resolution difference could be why it's not working.
