Hdmi sound not working on laptop, running windows 7 and the spdif is missing? he

hi,

I am running a laptop with windows 7 and when i connect to the tv with an hdmi cable i get picture but no sound, i have had sound before, it seems the spdif(digital sound out is missing)

Please help

Look at the audio program with your sound card (or onboard sound) maybe it is turned off in the configuration. Or make sure your TV is set to receive audio through the cable, you can turn it off on most TVs. Go into the settings for the input you are using and make sure audio is turned on.
