Hey! this is my laptop's specs:

Lenovo Z560
Core i3 1.8 ghz / 4gb of Ram (DDR3) / Nvidia GeForce 310m

and the problem:

up until a couple of weeks ago i had no trouble connecting my laptop to my LG TV and streaming videos WITH sound, then out of a sudden i can't get sound through it whatsoever, i've tried every solution and diagnostic technique with no luck, tried reinstalling both the sound card and the video card drivers to the latest, needless to say i tried fixing it through the sound options in the control panel (i get to the "Playback Devices" tab and i SEE several HDMI outputs, but they're all flagged "Not Plugged In" so i can't click and have them stream my audio, they're just greyed out and unclickable), i tried changing my HDMI cable, restarted countless times with the cable attached and not, nothing seems to work, today i took the laptop down to the shop but the technician told me there's nothing wrong with my video card :/

i really want this fixed so i'd be extremely grateful if i got any help :) TIA

Solution
windows sometimes glitches up.. sometimes for no apparent reason.

when fixing my own systems and nothing else seems to work or if the system was working fine one day and then the next day its acting strange i might do a system restore to a few days prior. sometimes when nothing you seem to do works this does.

often this fixes some buggy behavior that other wise cannot be explained. a clean reinstall of windows would do the same thing but is much more involved and much more of a pain. this is why i suggested a restore.. right now you dont know if its hardware or software.

as far as the tech saying the port and video card is fine.. did he get audio? how about the tv.. does it work fine with that hdmi port? i agree... it looks software...

i really don't wanna go through a system restore as i'm seeing no point in it, i much rather go through a clean reinstall of windows
also if it's anything software-related, i've already covered every inch involved :/
and regarding the cable/port: i already bought and tested another cable, and the technician, as i mentioned, said that the video card, along with the port, is fine

your call. just saying what i would do personally to fix my own system.
