Solved! Hdmi static and distressed picture

Hello,
I hook my mac book pro up to my lcd flat screen, via HDIM, as you well know in order to do this I have a mini display port -> HDMI adapter then a 2m monster HDMI cable. All I get is a statically distressed picture. I have tried a different HDMI cable and different port on my tv, is it the adapter?

could be the adapter or the display port on your macbook.

you'd have to run some tests to try to troubleshoot what exactly the issue is.
