I read here that HDMI and DVI are the same except for the DVI not having audio. In terms of video signal integrity; Is it the same when comparing an HDMI cable feeding a PC monitor through an HDMI to DVI adapter v/s feeding the monitor via straight VGI cable?

Solution
If you're asking if the signal from HDMI to DVI is the same as HDMI to VGA, then no. DVI and HDMI are both digital signals, where as VGA is an analog signal and doesnt put out nearly the quality of HDMI/DVI. You can adapt an HDMI to VGA but I dont know why you'd want to unless your monitor can only support VGA.
