HDMI to Two Porjectors

Here is the set up. One laptop connected to one HDMI cord into an HDMI splitter. From that splitter are two HDMI cords to two projectors. Currently the projectors show a duplicate of the computer screen but I want the projectors to show an extension so I can have an open window on my laptop but a different screen on the projectors. Been trying every setting for hours but when I try any other setting but "duplicate screen" it doesn't show up. Anyone out there think they know whats up?

Yes, in the display settings on my hp laptop using the most current windows program.

Credit to these guys if it helps solve the problem, the first solution seems like it might do what you want if you can set your laptop to have monitor 1 not be the default display.

I'll look into some other things if those don't work out.

Try to set up one projector as the extended screen first. If then works then add the splitter. If your splitter isn't an active HDMI 1 to 2 distribution amp then you may need one. Both projectors should be the same resolution if possible. If not then you may need to set the resolution to the lower of the two.
