HDMI won't connect laptop to TV anymore

I have a Dell Inspirion laptop and a Samsumg TV. I've connected my laptop to my TV via HDMI before, I have also connected my laptop to other TV's before. The HDMI cord I am using is the one I use for my Xbox. So I know the ports work and the cable is fine. Just when I try and plug in my laptop it gives me a "no signal" message. Not sure why it just all of a sudden stopped working. I havn't changed any settings or anything. Yes, I have used the control panel to switch to external monitor and yes I have used the Fn key. None of it has worked.

Thanks.... but that's possibly the most obvious answer for this. I didn't think I had to say that in my blurb, especially after saying that I've done it before as well as have other hdmi connections. That's like saying "try plugging it in" when someone says "my computer won't turn on"
