Headphone and Mic are not working at the same time

I have a gigabyte mother board and i have a turtle beach headset. when i plug in the chord it detects a mic and headphones. i can hear out of the headphones but the mic doesnt work! help!

if headfone have one connector you wanna get spliter like this http:// check online should cost less then 4-5$

then if you dont have HD Audio Manager you wanna get one from here:http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#High Definition Audio Codecs and another think you wanna right click on speaker icon in Windows Taskbar select Recording and try your microphone did you see any movement on the right side of Recording tab.
