Hello and thank you for any assistance here.

I have a simple turntable setup at home.

An audio-technica LP120 USB tt connected to a pair of audioengine A5+ speakers.

That's it.

Due to situations, headphones have become preferable, so I picked up a pair of audioengine's Airs.

I cannot get them to work properly. :/

I connected the headphone jack to a red/white audio adapter (sorry for my phrasing here... I don't know many of the technical terms).
When I plug that into the speaker's rear audio output ports, the headphones work great!

But... sound still comes from the A5+s.
So, that isn't very convenient, hehe.

What am I doing wrong??
The A5+s don't seem to have a proper headphone jack...
Is there a workaround?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Thank you so much for the reply!

If I pick up a headphone amp... how do I connect it to the A5+ speakers?

Someone told me I needed a computer for a DAC or something. But I am not using any components right now except
a) a-t's LP120 turntable
b) ae's A5+ powered speakers
c) hopefully... these a-t Air headphones.

How does the headphone amp fit into that equation?
Any guidance would help, no matter how seemingly simple it might appear from your end.
Clearly, I am a novice, with regards to audio equipment.

Thank you in advance for any help/suggestions!
