Headphones Question (one 3.5mm??)

Hello all,

I have sentry's deep bass headphones with microphone. It comes with only one 3.5mm and the headset works when I plug it in but i can't seem to use the microphone.

I've been searching everywhere for an answer but haven't found anything. Do i possibly need a 3.5mm to usb connector?

it use the 3.5 mm what is this little button for on the 3.5 mm cable could it be to activate or mute the mic .

If you look at the plug, i assume it's a TRRS plug (four connections, instead of the usual three). Your computer probably doesn't support that.
You can buy a splitter that will divide it into two TRS plugs. One plugs into the headphone jack, the other plugs into the mic jack.
