Question Headset Mic picking up headset sounds, but nothing else

I got myself Steelseries Arctis 3 Headphones yesterday to use with a splitter, but only the audio part works, and the mic part is only picking up sounds coming from my PC. I know that the microphone itself is not broken, because i tested it on my phone and it worked, but the splitter is also not broken, because i used different headphones and both audio and the mic worked.
