Headset or Driver problem (corsair vengence 1500)

So i got this annoying problem. When ever i play a game (most fps games) i can't seem to locate where sounds are coming from. Whether it is someone walking/running behind me or someone shooting somewhere. No matter if someone is shooting behind me or in front of me or really far from me. It will sound like it all come from right behind me. I hate it!
Meaning that i can't hear from what direction the shooting is coming from.

So my Question is, does anyone have an idea of what might cause this problem?
- Driver problems, Defect headset, soundcard, wrong settings? I'am clueless!

are all the drivers and software installed for surround sound?
Is your processor capable of the requirements?
Did you open the audio software and check all the settings?

Oh im sorry, i will try to be more specific.

Here is my spec:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
8,00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
Realtek High Definition Audio
700 Watt psu
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd., Z68AP-D3 Motherboard

I installed only what the headset itself installed when i first plugged it in, and i have been messing with realtek Audio manager and my headsets own software but i can't seem to find out what to do really.

yes it is a USB surrond sound headset.
