So I started up my computer and began to watch a video but the sound was playing through the speakers instead of my headset. I made sure that all the cables were plugged in correctly and I tried a different headset but had the same problem. I have been through a lot of threads but none of them helped. I tried to set my headphones as my default device but it already is my default device. One thing that I haven't tried is uninstalling my audio drivers but I'm kind of new to this so I don't really know how. Thanks.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- First is to uninstall/reinstall the Sound card driver.
- Search for Device Manager and once open uninstall the Sound card driver.
- Right click on the Sound card driver then select Uninstall.
- Once uninstalled, reboot the laptop and it should reinstall the driver automatically.
- After the reboot do set the headphone as the default Playback Devices.
- Right click on the speaker icon locate at the bottom right hand corner and select Playback Devices.
- If you see your headphone listed right click on it and select Set Defaults.
- Click Apply and OK then test it again.
