Headset Vs Mic And Earphones

Since im making my first gaming pc I would like to know if I should buy a gaming headset or buy a desktop mic and use head/earphones instead and if so what some recommended mics and headsets? Thanks

It depends. What is your budget? Do you have a loud environment?

Generally a mic/headphones combo will have better audio quality but still it depends on your need and budget, for a budget below 120 dollars, I'll say it doesn't make much difference.

^Disagree. For<$120 you can still get much better headphones and add a mic compared to buying a "gaming" headset.
