Question Hello Im wondering if a 144hz monitor can actually show close to that with my laptop

My laptop is a Nitro AN517-51 and the specs are as follows
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9300H CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.85 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650

the max fps my laptop has is 60

you mean an external monitor or a replacement for you current display?

both is possible to get 144Hz refresh rate

i mean external monitor, my laptop screen can only go up to 60hz while the monitor this link takes you to https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/24-crg5-gaming-monitor-lc24rg50fznxza/ can get up to 144hz but im only seeing a max of 60 fps in games like valorant and minecraft on a render distance of 5 chunks.

fps is not the same as refresh rate.

however, if you just wanna set your monitor correctly, you will have to set 144Hz inside windows.
to check if the monitor is set correctly to 144Hz, open the onscreen display of the monitor
