Hi,
I'm looking to buy a Laptop, mainly for social stuff - Internet and playing movies.
But being a PC person it seems like the prices for laptops compared to PC specs are outrageous, and i'm lost with all the different models.

Please point me to the cheapest models that suits my needs.

I'm looking for the following specs:

  • ■ Screen: 17.3 - 18.4 inch (the bigger the better for playing movies, touchscreen not needed)
    ■ CPU: Intel quad core processor (don't want it to get slow)
    ■ GPU: minimal. Ability to play videos smoothly, nothing more.
    ■ RAM: 4 - 8GB (to run smoothly, nothing more)
    ■ Storage: Minimal (ideally i'd have SSD for OS and 500GB-1TB HDD, but i can add that in later)
    ■ CD/DVD/BR drive bay: Minimal (no need really)
    ■ Battery: Minimal (will be using the laptop with an electrical outlet mostly)
    ■ Dimensions: Thin is a bonus.
    ■ Weight: Lighter is a bonus.
    ■ Refurbished/used is fine too.

+ i need it to ship within Europe. I did find some good enough deals but all withing the US, which didn't help me :/

Thanks a lot!

Wanting a quad-core CPU in a laptop is pointless because you will only find it in $1000+ laptops and will give you no benefit for what you are looking to do. Even the I7 processors that come in laptops are dual-core very often (as mine is).

A dual-core Intel Core I5 should be perfect for you needs, anything more would be overkill for what you want.
