HELP: Color fades in and out to B&W...hookup help needed

Color fades in and out to B&W during live as well as for recorded
movies. I'm not even sure if I have everything connected optimally as
the instructions for each of my equipment don't include enough to
support what I need connected. Any suggestions on the best connection
for the ReplayTV? Everything works right now but using a plethora of
different remotes, lots of guess work, trial and errors. Progressive
OUT on RTV connected with Monster Cable to Progressive IN on TV as
none available on Receiver.

ViewMaster Cable Box (VM4000+)
Philips DVD (DVP642)
Aiwa Stereo Receiver (AV-D97)
ReplayTV PVR (RTV-5040)
Samsung DVD VCR (DVD-V1000)

Color fading in and out indicates one of two conditions. See notes as well

1: Weak signal

2: Poor fine tuning on set (not, usually on a digital tuned set though)

Notes:
1a: Weak signal may be caused by many things, If you are recording on a
broadcast antenna you may simply be out of range, Use of a properly
aimed directional antenna, or raising the antenna, or using a higher
gain antenna, may improve and/or cure the problem

1b: if you are on cable... There could be a problem with the cable

1c: In all cases of weak signals the cables, connections, and the like
could be faulty, this is epically true with cables that run outside your
house

1d: Test by feeding a different television, not via the recorder

2: fine tuning is usually a set function, Most modern digital tuned sets
do not have a fine tune option Some older ones (IE: the 20 year old box
in front of me just now) do even if they have digital tuning.

If you do not have a fine tuning option on your tv and you have
eliminated all other causes (IE: another TV hooked up in it's place
works fine) then have the TV serviced by a professional

Oh yes, there is a 3rd cause... But it (Problems other than fine tuning
with the TV) is covered by the "Have the TV serviced by a professional"
