help for performance i3(4010u) or i5(4200u) vs i3(3110m)

planning for a new laptop which could run as smoothly as the i3(3110m)+8gb one.the applications include multiple chrome tabs, pdfs, music in the host WIN 7/8 and an SAP ECC 6.0 demo version inside virtual machine( server 2008 ) loading the
i3-3110m consistently between 40-60% occasionally peaking to 85% of the total 2.4Ghz..
So can the i3/i5 ULV versions perform as well ?

Well, the 4th gen cores will definitely destroy the 3rd gen core in terms of battery life.

The i5-4200u appears to be somewhat faster, so therefore it should run VMs faster.

but i3M performing consistently at 1.6Ghz ~ translates to full clock speed of i3ULV all the time and the peaks above 2Ghz can never be reached in i3U. in case of i5ULV over prolonged periods of usage at 1.6GHz it may reach temp limits and may not kick into turbo speeds.
price per se there r better deals in the ULV versions and couldn't find different options in the haswell i3/i5 M versions.
battery life is not a requirement, desirable though.
