HELP, im in need of a new laptop

My current one is around 6 to maybe even 7 years old and looking to get something new. Im not a gamer or use it for work, howver I do need it for school. I start my bachelors on the 7th and need it for papers. i surf the web, check my email and store pictures on it. Nothing super fancy. Budget is 500.00 max
