Hi Gang

I picked up an industrial player pioneer CLD-V2300D.

it works brilliantly and for my eyes looks brand new.

I have recently started collecting movies and a number of them feature an
AC3 soundtrack. I was just wondering whether anyone is familiar with this
unit to whether an rf AC3 output could be added.

It does not have an optical digital output, but does offer the digital
soundtrack via the rca audio outputs.

Any help as usual is appreciated. i have read a number of websites about the
homemade AC3 kits & conversions etc, but none have mentioned this player.

regards

An AC-3 output can be added to any LD player. It is different than the
digital one you have as it is a special RF modulated output and either your
receiver has to have an internal RF demodulator in it or you have to
purchase an external RF demodulator to demodulate the RF signal to the
normal AC-3 bitstream.

The problem is it would be cheaper to resale this and purchase a CLD-D406
which would provide 2-sided playback, AC-3 RF output and a digital output.
I charge $100 to add and test an AC-3 output.

If you need the external demodulator you would need it for both the modified
2300 or the 406.

Cheapest thing is to get a copy of the AC-3 RF circuit from the internet if
you are able to install it your self.

Getting a cheap player is not always good as they usually lack features to
allow full enjoyment. It is usually cheaper to pay a little more and get
the features to start with.

Thanks Kurtis

I entered the LD front rather blind to the AC3 situation. I am very happy
with the player I have but obviously now I am in the know so to speak will
keep an eye out for a player with an RF AC3 output built in and start
looking at purchasing a RF Demodulator also.

Thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated.
