Help needed (Fairly urgent)

I have the bose companion 2 series 3 and they basically don't work.

I have them all plugged into my PC and with the power in.

PC Specs if needed:

MSI R9 280X 3GB
Hyper T4 CPU Cooler
8GB RAM
Gigabyte H87-HD3 Motherboard
Corsair CX600M PSU
InWin GT1 Case

Peripherals:

Under Windows are they selected as the default speakers?
