Help on buying £400-£500 laptop?

Hi, I'm looking to spend around £400-£500 on a new laptop. It has to have at least 6GB of RAM and a pretty speedy processor (preferable core series if Intel), can anyone recommend me a decent one that fir those specs and which out of the below would be the better choice. Thanks for any help!

I've found these two so far, but seeing as I know absolutely nothing about AMD processors I have no idea which is the best out of the Quad-core AMD A8-3530M processor and a Intel core i5 processor.

This laptop has the new Ivy bridge Intel cpu's so it will be the best cpu you can get in your price bracket. As for the ram anything over 4gb is overkill unless you plan on doing High quality HD video rendering or working with some really big images in Photoshop.

does it make a difference that the website is all in $ rather than pounds? I just want something that's going to last a while but still in the price bracket.

Also I'm not sure If I agree with your ram sentence. I'm currently using 3.4GB out f 6GB on the laptop I'm on now and that's not really doing anything at all.
