Help on streaming DVDs

I would like to put all my DVDs and blu Rays on to a hard drive that I can connect to my smart to play them through remotely. Is this possible ?

Yes. The easiest solution is a DLNA server software. That is the most common method for smart TVs to find media. You might be able to just share a folder to the TV but you will have to check the capabilities of your TV.

I would like to as a present for my hubby. Save all our DVDs and CDs so they can be played through our TV without having to search through all our boxes of DVDs. Is this possible?

You will need software to convert the DVDs from physical media to files. Handbrake is a free software to do that.
