Help on technics receiver

The sound stops, (ususlly after a 'pop') on myy technics integrated amp after several hours of non-continuous playing. All lights on all components are still on. Takes from an hour to several days before I can get sound again. Any suggestions as to what is the problem and possible solutions?

Sounds like your power supply has tripped due to overload, and it takes a while to reset. Try to ensure the amp/receiver is in a cool spot and gets plenty of airflow. I fitted a 120mm PC fan to one of my PA amps to get it to run a bit cooler.

If the unit is overheating and shutting down it would come back on once it is cooled down.
If the power supply capacitors are out of spec due to age this could cause the power supply to shut down. Older electronics often need capacitors replaced as they age.
