HELP! samsung reciever problem

My volume knob is acting very erratically. I turn it and there is no guess or way to tell which way the numbers are going to go. jumping large groups of numbers. Either way, I heard that it is a common problem. I am just looking for a point in the right direction to get some parts. I haven't done much electrical repair. But I am hoping it is straight forward. Thanks ahead for ANY help. Jon

My first guess is that the contacts are dirty which is a common problem.

Read the sticky forum on cleaning contacts.
