help tablet wont come on

okay so a friend gave me a tablet and it wont get past 'Powered by android" screen. friend said his friend turned it on it asked to update he hit yes then we don't know what happen from there. please help me fix this. it will come on just not past "Powered by Android" screen

Try flashing a factory ROM to it using a computer. Systems that are stuck at that screen are unlikely to be restored with the internal factory reset.

Do a web search for your tablet brand and model and for a factory ROM image for it, you will be able to find instructions to flash the device in that same area.
