Help with Acer E15

I got an Acer e15 today and i have two questions. I was playing gmod on it and my game kept freezing then going black screen with my mouse still there. i alt tabbed out then got back on the game but how do i fix this? And also how am i able to make the computer use the 12 hours of battery life that the box says it has?

12 hours of battery is during light use, with gaming on the thing, it will probably be more like 3 hours. Gary's mod is an old game, it likely is not working properly due to the new operating system and video drivers. Try running it in compatibility mode for an older OS.
