I have recently been doing a lot of research into a good gaming headset for under 200$ for PS3 and PC. I am currentley stuck between the, Tritton 720+, the Sharkoon X-Tactic, and the skullcandy PLYR 1. Really I just want to know which of these is best for fps's like COD and other games like that. Also I am not stuck on these three I'd you have a good suggestion then first I would like to have, surround sound, retractable mic, wireless, and cross platform ( PS3 PC). Thank you in advance for all your help I really appreciate it!!!

I have the Sharkoon X-Tactic and I love it. It's a wonderfully comfortable headset and unlike most other 5.1/7.1 headsets it natively uses 3.5mm jacks for natural speaker audio, no lossy USB or Optical crap. The Analog version comes with the 3.5mm jacks only, but the Digital version comes with a Dolby Digital decoder as well which can be swapped out which makes it equally useful for consoles and PC alike.

That said, I have two complaints about it.

First, the plugs don't have notches. I inserted one incorrectly in the dark and bent the pins. They were good enough to replace the cord.

Second, the included microphone is extremely prone to failure. Mine failed as did many others. This may have been resolved in recent revisions of the...
