hi i have a Philips HTS3560/12 1000W Home Cinema System and i just put a new subwoofer on it witch is a 500watt jvc define and i have switched it and it played one song then it went bang and smoke come out of the unit it self now it still works but on the little lcd screen it just stays on sayings Philips what is this ?

Due to their low power requirements, and tiny power supplies, HTIB systems are designed specifically for the gear they are shipped with. There was probably a resistance/power difference in the two subs, and the receiver couldn't take it. There's not much you can do other than take it to a local repair shop, and get an estimate. As a general rule of thumb, don't change HTIB components.
