Help!!

Hi, I need some help. I have and acer aspire 6930g. i recently got very nasty virus and had to have a whole new operating system put on it. Since then it seems that the fan to cool it down isn't working and its shutting itself down. Does it need software to start the fan when it gets to hot, if so could you recommend some software please??

your laptop should automatically control the fan speeds. clean your laptop's vents with compressed air to improve the airflow

You do not need software to turn the fans on. That would be unbelievably incompetent design.

Why do you say the fans aren't working? Are they not spinning?
