Hey buying my first laptop... is this the right choice?

Its an i5 3230M with 740M. Looks like a great deal.

The reason I'm buying it because no other laptop in that price range has a 740M graphics card.

But I just wanna know is that will 740M run it's best with the i5?
Also, does the 1GB model work the same as 2GB?(I've heard that it's a marketing gimmick because midrange graphics cards dont use all that VRAM)

Looks like a good rig, I'd upgrade it to 8GB DRAM, which will come in handy (and also if the GPU want's to share DRAM you'll have the extra, 1 vs 2 isn't that big of a deal....I'd say go for it
